Aaron's New Job

Aaron has had a lot of changes in his life this year. He got a new house, a new calling, and a new job. The new job is still in Austin with a start-up called Fox Robotics. The company was started by the guy who was his old boss (who originally hired him) at KUKA. Aaron likes and respects this guy a lot and is happy to work with him again. Aaron liked his old job at KUKA, and it was a hard decision to leave. But he's been really excited about and having fun with the opportunity at Fox Robotics. They do autonomous forklifts. The job itself has been a bit of a learning curve--at first he kind of felt like he'd been thrown into the deep end. But he's getting his feet under him now and has been feeling happy.

The kids and I recently visited his work for the first time and made a family activity of it. I like seeing Aaron's workplace with my own eyes. Then I can envision him there, typing away on his computer. He showed us how the forklift moves around on its own seeking out pallets that need to be moved. Exciting stuff! Scotty's foosball face is priceless!

Lots of robot decor and artwork. I thought it was all cute and whimsical.

And afterward, we went to Golden Corral, which has been the kids' dream for a while now.

I'm still so grateful that Aaron finished his PhD and got a real job. Now he got TWO real jobs. Whoa! My favorite thing about Aaron's job is that they keep the fridge stocked with sandwich fixings. I don't pack Aaron a lunch. For some reason, I have an aversion to packing lunches. Maybe that's the real reason I decided to homeschool...

I liked that wall design of a money turning into a robot
