This Week

Scotty lost his first tooth. He wouldn't let any of us touch it. But while he was eating frosted, shredded mini wheats alone in the kitchen in the wee hours of the morning, it just fell out.

The kids got to ride horses at our homeschool horse day camp. I thought maybe Scotty would be too scared to actually get on the horse, but he was fine.

Spring Break

I told people we were still going to do our school stuff during spring break, but we totally didn't. We relaxed and played with friends. It was great! The most exciting event of the week was having a visit from the Brimleys. They came on Thursday evening and stayed through dinner time on Friday. On Friday we went to All Abilities Park which wasn’t too too crazy. And then we went to San Gabriel Park to eat lunch and fly kites. The weather was hot for spring, but still quite lovely. We had a nice time chatting and being together.
Amanda has since had her baby! Way to go, Amanda!

The kids played wonderfully together. They made friends with a neighbor’s dog. They spotted him running around the neighbor’s yard and went to say hi. His name was Dash, apparently, and eventually they saw the owner, too, and chatted with her. The kids were always dashing off to say hi to Dash.

We also got Round Rock Donuts. They were tasty, but we ordered three maples and only found two in the box when we got home. Hard not to be depressed about that. I'm also depressed about how dark this picture turned out to be.

Life doesn't get much better than spring break with the Brimleys.

Sea World

We went to Sea World! It was awesome. Joe and Anya invited us to go with their season passes. Annie's dreams came true. She has been obsessed with dolphins for the last six months or so since watching Dolphin Tale on Netflix.
We went to the dolphin show and whale show. Then we saw dolphins (and, later, sharks) up close swimming around in the water.

There were also roller coasters. Annie loved them! Scotty was nervous even about me going on the roller coasters. I think he was worried he would be left an orphan. And all the people and new things made him nervous. And I, stupidly, forgot our stroller so he had to walk the whole time. Anyway...Annie went on all of the scariest roller coasters with her fun girl cousins. Her favorite roller coaster was the Wave Breaker.

Scotty enjoyed the much tamer Shamu Express.

The weather was a bit rainy, so Sea World wasn't too crowded. It was the perfect day to go. It's so wonderful to be close to family members. Joe and Anya and family are such great people! We love being with them, and this was a really fun memory.
