Cold Snap

Texas had its yearly freeze where school was canceled and we all asked ourselves how much longer this long, long winter would last. Will we survive? Will we ever see 80 again?

The winter weather coincided with visitors! Felicia and Nick and three of their awesome kids came to see us. We had so much fun, even though it was cold.

We went to Enchanted Rock and Kalahari and Aaron's work and had a backyard fire. We ate barbecue and tacos and donuts and hot dogs. We were busy. We actually managed to get hungry between meals because we were running around so much.

Tyler wins the award for the coolest photos.

Charlie wins the award for the cutest dog. He liked the Olveras and only barked at them 5/10 times when they came down the stairs. One day he even took a nap on Felicia's lap.

We went to Kalahari on the day school was closed because of the snow and (potential) ice. It was empty. The capacity sign said 4,762 and there were probably 50 of us. No lines=lots of stair climbing cardio. It was a blast! At the end, though, it was dark outside so it was dark inside the tubes. And I was getting nauseous on the rides when I went on them in the dark. That was kind of a bummer. But it did give me an excuse to go relax in the hot tub.

And we're back in the 70s this week! I guess the Olveras brought the cold with them and then took it back home. It was so nice to catch up with family. Lots of interesting conversations and good times.
