We built Lego creations and copper coil/battery trains, bridges, and puzzles (not pictured).
We went to the ward Halloween party and to the city's fall festival where there were hayrides and games.
We went to Dallas to see all the sisters--John's sisters, Julie's sister, my sister. It was great to see all of them! There were some of Aaron's cousins and one of John's sisters that I hadn't met. I was frustrated that I forgot to take a picture at John's sister's house and a good one with Abbie. Scotty got this at Hannah's dance recital. We went to the food court at the mall after the recital and had chik-fil-a and a chat. There was also a dramatic police arrest while we were there.
Oh, and I almost forgot! On our way to the recital, we got stuck in traffic. There just happened to be an air show going on at the same time. We got 20-30 mins of the Blue Angels performing amazing air-flying feats in the sky.
And here's one of us at Julie's sister's house.
On the way home from Dallas, we stopped to see the Mammoth National Monument. Our tour guide was the most Texas Texan I've met yet. She told us the site with the most mammoth skeletons is in South Dakota. Go SoDak!!
We went into Austin and saw the capitol and its museum. And we rode the Zilker Zephyr--Annie's birthday request. We also waded in Barton Springs. It was lovely. Until a guy near us decided to start smoking pot.
We also ate so. much. food. Round Rock Donuts, Rudy's Rosa's, Home Slice, pecan pie ice cream, Andy's Frozen Custard, and more!
John and Aaron also fixed our front door deadbolt, my blowdryer, our hand-mixer, and Annie's lamp. And Julie helped me with her bread recipe which we made together successfully! Oh, and we also went on an epic trip to Costco. It was a grand visit. We're so grateful for parents/grandparents!
