Novemeber from Annie's Perspective

Hello! New blog post writer in town. Here's what we've been up to this month.

Scotty finished his basketball season. I didn't go to a lot of his games, but he's pretty much obsessed now and he's going to do another season sometime this winter. Go Panthers.

We went to the temple like President Nelson told us to do. It was good. Our friends the Hancocks also inspired us with their two times a month temple trips.

Duck Cake. Oh, the duck cake. I spent a weekend on it for my homeschool friend's little sister's surprise birthday party. Despite my nightmares about my mom eating the chip lips, the cake was overall a success. I think the birthday girl liked it. Her "slice" was the duck's whole head. She pulled it right off, skewers and everything.

Soccer! Jamie is on the  mens BYU club soccer team. They played in the national college championship, which meant two one and a half hour games every day for three days in a row which sounds absolutely miserable to me but I guess they like it. And those boys never slow down either. They just run and run and run.

Anyway, they made it to the championship game! It was fancier than the other games, which were reminiscent of Scotty's rec league games, just a bunch of parents in camping chairs watching their kids play soccer. But this time we were in bleachers, the game was filmed live, there was an actual scoreboard, and there was even kind of an announcer guy.

The championship game was intense!! BYU has dominated this division for the last four years. But the score in the first half was 0-0. The score in the second half? 0-0. What about overtime? 0-0. Second overtime? You guessed it, 0-0. AHHHH!! Stressful. We would like to say, however that BYU (especially in the second half and overtime) Had way more shots on goal that the other team (The Ohio State University. The The is very important.) So with the score still to 0-0, they went to a shoot out, AKA THE MOST STRESSFUL THING EVER. They boys shot, missed, and blocked. They managed to still be tied until our goalie blocked the The Ohio State's kick and got us up a point. Wahoo! We won!

But no, we didn't. The ref said that the the block wasn't valid. (The Ohio state liked that a lot.) So back to the most stressful game ever. Still tied. Then Jamie, our main man, nailed the ball in the very corner of the net and WHAMMO! We won! For realsies! It was delightful. Go Cougs!

The boys grew facial hair and were calling it Stacheionals.

Swimming in Abbie and James's pool at their smoke scented Airb&b.

Family pictures! Our family is pretty cute, if I do say so myself. But for the record, in the second photo Ariel photoshopped my face in from another picture.

And we mustn't forget Thanksgiving. There was all the yummy foods (11 pies, 10 people. That might be a record. Fact check me, mom.) Everyone ate, chatted, and the boys played lots of soccer (inspired most likely by Jamie). Me and Annette stayed up late, told scary stories, complained about books, and took a walk at night through the woods. From what I could tell, the Hubbies had a few good talks, looked at nasty comments about Brad's road design, and read the newspaper. Amanda and mom chatted up a storm of interesting topics, including Writing Resonant Romance. They're going to be good teachers at Storymakers one day.

Okay! There you go. Annie's version of events with a plethora of weak verbs. Bye!
