Backyard fires are the best. We love this as a simple family activity. The only downside is having to wash your hair afterward due to smoke.

At some point, the kids named our backyard fire Bartholomew.

This is Annie's class pet at Classical Conversations. Not the horse. The stuffed warthog on top of the horse. His name is Chad. They take turns bringing him home and giving him adventures. Homeschooled 13 year olds still know how to have a good time. 

We had a lot of bananas. 

The answer to the following questions is no: Did we adopt a troop of monkeys? Were we making banana bread to send to soldiers overseas? Is it banana season in Texas?

The answer to the following questions is yes: Did I make an online grocery order at HEB instead of Walmart? Does Walmart sell bananas by the banana and HEB sell bananas by the bunch? 

The guy who loaded my groceries at HEB was like, "I just have one question. What's with all the bananas?" 

Everything's bigger in Texas, right? Including your banana order at HEB.
