Kid Tribe Fall 2021

Our homeschool co-op friends were nice enough to go along with my vision this year. I really wanted to do storytelling. I had bought a curriculum for it last year and felt inspired. It wasn't the kind of thing that would get enough momentum with just my two kids, though. So I said, "I will teach, just please let me corral your children into this activity!" And they went along with it, and I thought it turned out great! The kids really grew in confidence. Some kids who used to be scared to merely stand in front of the group were up there speaking loudly and clearly and entertaining us with their stories. It made my heart happy. They worked hard, and their moms worked hard with them, too. My dreams came true. I'm so grateful for this awesome group of people!

This semester we also went to the Maybourne Museum in Waco. Their main exhibit was about dinosaurs, and I learned a lot from it. Not just the same old, same old info you've read a thousand times in the kids' books from the library. They had a little pioneer village outside, and our homeschooled kids had the most fun playing school in the schoolhouse.

When we're done with class time on our co-op Thursdays, we usually go over to the park by our house. The kids play, play, play while the parents talk, talk, talk. Scotty is really good pals with Victor. I love seeing the various friendships that develop between kids of all ages.
