Easter and Other Things

This year for Easter I tried to keep some separation between pagan fertility celebrations and the resurrection. So Saturday was our "Happy Spring Day!" and Sunday was Easter. So we did candy and egg dying and hunting on Saturday. Aunt Charlotte invited our kids along with her grandchildren to come upstairs for an Easter lesson and a little scavenger hunt where the kids looked for symbols of the resurrection. So our Saturday got some religion into it, too, which was great. The upstairs ladies also served a delicious brunch afterwards. On Sunday we went to church and then to Aaron's parents' house.

Here's some post egg hunt cuteness:

We also went to Aaron's parents' house the following weekend for general conference. This year the kids really sat and listened. They were coloring or eating as they did so, but they were so well-behaved and actually quite attentive. I was impressed.

In other news, I was given the task of running the multi-stake women's basketball tournament. I have loved playing RS basketball, so I guess it's about time I did something to give back. Really, it's karma because I whined about how it was run last year. It's interesting how the church really needs individual people to make anything happen. The general authorities can preach all they want, but the functioning of the church really comes down to each little person showing up to do their own little part, doesn't it?
