Here are some random things I am finally getting around to blogging about.
After living in Provo for the past ten years, Annie and I finally made it over to the hot air balloon festival. It was really cool! I sort of figured I'd seen it since I had seen the balloons floating in the air. But being there, close up, while the balloons filled up, was definitely a different experience.
And when we came home, one of the hot air balloons landed on our street. Annie was very excited because she got to help stuff it back into its giant bag.
At the end of July, Aaron went to Argentina to present his paper that was accepted to the International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence where they actually had a panel about robots taking over the world. Age of Ultron anyone?
Before he left, I kept asking if he was scared because I'd be quite scared to go to a foreign country and be by myself for a week in some hotel and walk everywhere I went. He wasn't scared. Like, at all. Somehow, I couldn't quite fathom that. Is that because I'm a woman? Or because I'm a sissy?
Aaron gave a 10 minute presentation then stood by his poster and talked to people. He also hung out with one of the professors on his PhD committee who said the words, and I quote, "Let's conspire to get you graduated." Music to my ears.
While Aaron was gone, the kids and I spent one night at Felicia's house. The girls had some hang out time together. We went to Rita's and watched a chick flick. Annie felt very grown up staying up late with Felicia, Kaylee, and I. Here's us at Rita's.
Also this summer, our favorite 8 year old and ex-neighbor, Emma, got baptized. She's the cutest. She and Annie had on practically the same dress. I felt a bit sheepish about that--like wearing white to a wedding. But the girls thought it was great.
Afterward, we went to the Lewis Family Birthday Bash. Star Wars style. It was amazing. Here you see the Death Star pinata. I'm sorry to admit that Annie was a bit of a candy hog. But she had to share with her brother who was too timid to pick up a single piece.

I can't think of a better girl to be twins with for the day! Great minds......
Surely because your husband is so tall he is not intimidated by foreign countries. You are no wimp women...2 words...natural childbirth!
