Visitors!

It's always special when you live somewhere other than Utah and people actually still come to see you! We had some returning Texans stay with us right after Storymakers. The Jensens! They abandoned us by moving last year. But then they came back, and it was really fun. (We have a guest room. It's available most months of the year. Come see us!) Brimleys + Jensens + Dennises were all together for an afternoon because Amanda's family was picking her up after Storymakers. Did you know we all knew each other in our BYU ward? Yep, it's a Cinnamon Tree Reunion right here. While the Jensens were here, we hung out with our co-op friends, ate Andy's and Torchy's, epic domino-building, a trip to Six Flags, backyard campfire, and more!

Aaron's parents also came to see us. This year they committed at Christmas time to take each couple and each grandkid on a date. Very generous with both time and money. Aaron and I asked them to help us install recessed lights in our living room ceiling and have a structured conversation with us. They took Annie to an art installation in Austin. And they took Scotty to an Austin FC game. And they also took the whole family to Medieval Times in Dallas. Quite the eventful visit!

At the art installation, a robot drew Annie. Very on-brand for our family.

The first picture of our lights is the finished product because I am too lazy to rearrange these pictures. The lights turned out so well! We found the perfect arrangement. And we installed a dimmer switch, and it's just so great to be able to see and have so much lighting flexibility. All my dreams came true.

At the Austin FC game, it rained for about an hour. But they didn't cancel it. And Grandma and Grandpa stayed with Scotty through the rain until the bitter end. They got to hear the band play A LOT of songs.

We also went to Georgetown and got our favorite treats at The Baked Bear. The weather was amazing for June. Every time I go to Georgetown, I wonder why we live in Round Rock. It's so quaint! (Round Rock is great, too.)

Annie and Grandpa also built a planter box using old wood and the kids' old crib. When the weather cools off, Annie will plant something in it.

We went bowling! I won. Just sayin'.

Lights!

Inside our ceiling, we saw various things that gave us trouble, but also a wonderful thing which is that we didn't have to drill through any joists.

Planning and thinking...there was so much planning and thinking. That's how it is doing a project with Aaron. And I'm usually glad for that. But sometimes it makes things take a long time.

Small hand needed.

Our living room was so dark (before our light remodel) that Aaron's dad had to bust out his phone flashlight to look through ye olde photo album.

Medieval Times! Yummy food! Lots of horses! Knights in shining armor! Good times!
Annie had a knight throw her a flower.

Can't get this picture to center. It is what it is.

It was so nice to have visitors and do so many exciting and interesting things with them!
