Aaron and I have now been married for a decade. Whoo-ee! That went by fast! It's been great. I really like being married, especially being married to Aaron. I have really been appreciating what a good listener he is and his strong faith and his desire to obey. He's also smart. I still really like that about him.
After the nasty ice cream, we drove to a bed and breakfast about 20 miles out of San Antonio. The drive was lovely. Turns out we were the only people staying at the bed and breakfast; not even the manager stayed. It was fun to have the place to ourselves. There was a huge rainstorm that night, so we sat outside on the porch swing and watched the lightning. Some cows were mooing (we think) but they sounded like dinosaurs roaring. So that was cool. In the morning, the manager came back and made us a delicious breakfast. She brought two of her three kids with her--the 13 year old and the 7 year old. The 9 year old was off somewhere else. The 7 year old came into the dining area where we were waiting and just chatted it up. She gabbed and gabbed. It was so cute, and it reminded us of Annie. The mom/manager was not mean to this little girl or anything but also seemed not too thrilled about the little girl talking her head off. She tried a few times to get the little girl to stay in the kitchen and stop bugging us. It was interesting to watch this situation because we’ve been on the parent side of it so many times. From the stranger/listener side of it, I thought the parent should relax, let the kid be the kid, and let the stranger/listener set their own boundaries.
As we were leaving, we saw the 9 year old. He was driving the family's suburban. It was hilarious at the time.
Anyway, then we went into San Antonio and went to the Alamo and a few of the other missions. We also went on the river boat tour, which we were really glad we did.

The missions were beautiful. It was fun to see something, in America, that was older than the 1800s. Two of the missions are still functioning as churches every Sunday. That was pretty cool too. What wasn't cool was the San Antonio sun. Actually, though, we lucked out because it was cloudy for most of the morning. Only at 2:00ish did the sun come out and really start frying us.
We went back to Joe and Anya's and had dinner with them and went to part of their ward talent show. It was such a fun weekend. Hooray for 10 years!
