However, it can help to have an interior decorator living upstairs. I told Heather of my desires for a home makeover, and she jumped on that like a cat on cream.
From then on, it was like we were on a decorating show. We painted and went to the fabric store and found awesome stuff in the hoarder garage. Heather sewed curtains, and I made a chalkboard. I scoured DIs throughout the land for just the right decorating items. We upcycled our little hearts out, and I even broke the blade on Heather's scroll saw. It was very exciting. And here is the big reveal! (I forgot to take a picture of Annie's new curtains, but they are adorable.)
Heather and I finished just in time for the Pride and Prejudice Girl Party Extravaganza. My mother, mother-in-law, two sisters, two sisters-in-law, my niece, and Cousin Heather all had a tea party at my house and then went to see Pride and Prejudice at BYU. The tea tasted like dirt/tree bark, but the company was outstanding. And I have to say that the chicken salad sandwiches I made weren't too bad either. I won't mention the coconut lime cheesecake bars because they were too good for words. Pride and Prejudice was very well done. They commissioned Melanie Leilani Larson, a BYU grad, to adapt it for the stage. This version probably had my favorite Jane/Elizabeth relationship. I was a bit disappointed by Mr. Darcy's short stature, but his voice was perfect, and he ended up pulling it off. (Colin Firth 4ever!!)
I am lucky to know so many fabulous women.

So awesome! And great cutness - it looks WONDERFUL!
OH, I love it! I still think you are giving my house waaaaay too much credit, but whatever! I'm loving the bold and bright colors. I'm glad your party was such a success. The teacups are lovely! Where are the period dresses? :)
I am obviously a bit behind on your blog, but it was fun for me to see the results of your home makeover, since I was there when you and Heather first started discussing it. It looks great!! I am jealous!
